Further Comments: One visitor to the site stated she looked across the fields and watched a group of monks approaching the barrow. She left for a few minutes, and on her return realised that the field now looked different; shorter grass, fewer trees, and the figures had vanished. The area around the barrow is locally acknowledged to be 'strange'. The road running by Belas Knap is said to be haunted by a blue figure which unnerves drivers as it steps on into their paths.

Further Comments: Reports of a ghostly black monk coming from these areas are not uncommon, some saying that the figure looked as if he sunk slightly into the ground, others saying he floats two feet above the path.

Further Comments: One occupant of this property twice spotted a small monk-like figure wearing brown run across the landing from a bedroom to their parent's room. On another occasion, the witness awoke to see a projection of light on the wall showing a dozen decapitated people pleading and speaking French.

Further Comments: Seen standing by the fireplace together, this small group of shades featured a woman with a large hat being flanked by two men. She could be a former landlady who drowned in the nearby river.

Further Comments: Built on the site of a burial pit, this former public house is said to have a heavy, oppressive atmosphere. A misty entity appeared in one photograph taken here, while several ghost hunts have turned up numerous displaced spirits.

Further Comments: A classic sign of a haunting, the sounds would often be accompanied by the silken rustling of an invisible dress passing, thumps, bangs, and a sense of intense cold.
