Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1947 onwards
Further Comments: The house is haunted by a mysterious figure in a grey cloak and a tricorn hat, seen walking across the lawn at night. This apparition could either be that of an intruder who was once almost shot after peering through a downstairs window, or that of the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, who once briefly lived at the house. Other spirits include a phantom car heard in the driveway, the ghost of a wife of a former owner, the sound of children's voices, and an old man spotted on the staircase.
