Further Comments: The figure of a tall man was observed crossing the road. The man did not look solid, and vanished walking into a thick hedge.

Further Comments: Appearing in the dining hall, this former Cardinal was reportedly seen many times drifting around. It is believed that he could stand guard over a hoard of hidden treasure. The writer William Cobbett reported seeing a large grey cat while visiting the abbey, possibly an early Alien Big Cat encounter.

Further Comments: This ghostly lady, named by one source as Elizabeth Knight, wearing a cream coloured satin dress and walks the land surrounding the house carrying a large hunting knife. She is said to have once walked through the front wall of the house, appearing in every room before materialising through the back wall. A male ghost also haunts the area, recognised by his overgrown facial hair, and another female spirit, this time dressed in black.

Further Comments: A dragon which was given the locals a hard time was killed by an ex-soldier and his dog - the dog leapt onto the creature's face, while the man decapitated the wyrm.

Further Comments: A headless horseman is reported to haunt Westcott. In 2007, one man walking between Westcott and Dorking was followed by something unseen which pushed its way through thick bushes and made a trotting sound.

Further Comments: This figure, complete with leather coat and racing cap and goggles, has been seen pacing the track. A semi-transparent car has also been observed racing around the circle.

Further Comments: A driver who had pulled over to wipe his windscreen spotted a strange creature standing around 140 centimetres tall, with a glowing, oblong shaped head. The beast emanated an acrid smell. The driver jumped back into his car and quickly drove off.

Further Comments: The digitalspy.co.uk website carried the story that Katie Price was moving from her home after being hounded by two phantoms. Her husband Alex Reid was also reported to have encountered a ghostly elderly lady within the building.

Further Comments: This figure once appeared every Christmastime, though has kept his head down over recent years (perhaps the exorcised performed by a Roman Catholic barmaid succeeded).
Location: Woodmansterne - Fairlawns, Croydon Lane

Further Comments: Three different entities were identified haunting this house - two men and a woman all wearing clothing dating back to medieval times. The entities were spotted around the site and said to have caused the footsteps along empty corridors and rapping from the walls. A series of seances finally laid the ghosts to rest.

Further Comments: Dr Samuel Wilberforce was killed after being thrown from his horse while travelling through Deerleap Woods. Around the time of his death, four people at Wotton House reported seeing Wilberforce looking through a window, even though the doctor had no connection to the building and had never visited the site. As a side note, the building is said to be haunted by a man carrying fishing gear, who was seen in 1964.
