Further Comments: A soldier once based here alleged, in later life, to have been abducted while on guard duty at the base. Remembering the abduction from his dreams, the man claimed he fell unconscious after being hit by a thin beam of light.

Further Comments: A police officer reported watching a spherical orange object pass directly overhead, moving from north to south. Three other witnesses were with the officer at the time.

Further Comments: A flying banana shaped object was seen in the sky over the stadium a couple of times. It was described as bright and made up of several different colours.

Further Comments: A possible early ufo encounter. A married couple spotted two men wearing caps working on a cylinder-shaped craft perched on the ground. As the married couple approached for a better look, the men disappeared, and the craft took off.

Further Comments: Saddleworth Moor has been home to many strange and curious sightings of UFOs over the years, the largest of which was the size of a British double decker bus seen in 1975. More recently, six lights spread out in a hexagon pattern which vanished after several seconds were seen in the sky, quickly followed by a sighting of a strange van which also vanished.

Orford Ness, Suffolk.

Further Comments: A couple of men watched two lights hovering quite close to the water, which darted off at incredible speed as they approached. The area was home to Project Cobra Mist, which involved radar waves that followed the earth's curvature.

Further Comments: A witness recalled how bright orange lights had moved across this area and cars stopped, their power drained. Fazakerley Hospital windows were damaged on the same night.

Further Comments: A witness walking to the nearby college suddenly realised there was no traffic on the roads. Something made him look up only to see a large a fifty pence (heptagon) shaped craft hovering silently in the sky. It had a red underbelly, bright silver sides and moved from left to right. The witness looked down briefly, during which time the craft started to move away at incredible speed. The witness chased it across the road (traffic had appeared again) but it had disappeared. The witness later found out that he had lost an hour of time.

Further Comments: Several witnesses in different areas of Paignton reported seeing up to one hundred orange, green and red lights in the sky. Witness accounts varied - one person said they moved in formation, while another reported some were moving to the left while others to the right. One person reported a blue light that the other ufos moved towards.

Further Comments: Seen by two police officers, this UFO resembled a large airship, travelling at a then unheard of speed.

Further Comments: While studying the lunar eclipse, a witness watched a bright red star-like object rise forty-five degrees from the horizon. The star then split into two, then divided into four, with a final split into either eight or ten evenly sized lights which took a form like Cassiopeia before swiftly crossing westward across the sky. The witness later read that similar objects had been seen over Dorset on the same night, about an hour before their sighting.

Further Comments: A witness spotted a very bright white 'star' which turned bright red. As it grew closer, the object's shape resembled a massive glowing seagull. The wings did not flap, and the object glided silently. The air around the object glowed red as though surrounded by fog, even though the sky was extremely clear. The witness found it difficult to gauge the actual size but thought it exceptionally large. After between ten and fifteen minutes, the object disappeared towards Cornwall.

Further Comments: A strange ship appeared in the skies over Portland for seven or eight minutes. Sails, rigging, and men armed with pikes could be observed on board, and the vessel was accompanied by stormy weather.

Further Comments: While rumoured to contain either alien bodies and/or downed UAPs, the Porton Down web entry on gov.uk states 'No aliens, either alive or dead have ever been taken to Porton Down or any other Dstl site'.

Further Comments: BAE Wharton was believed to be the home of the UK stealth aircraft project, HALO being the project name. At the time, some believed this to be the result of back engineering a downed UFO.

Further Comments: Christened the 'Silent Vulcan' by students because of its similarity to a Vulcan bomber (but without any sound), this large aircraft was seen by a student in the skies of Preston. He stated the object shot off towards the dock area, moving at incredible speed.

Further Comments: Mark Taylor photographed a strange man floating high in the sky. After local press picked up the story it was revealed the sighting occurred on the same day a child had their life-sized stormtrooper balloon swept away by the wind.
