Darting Lights

Location: Manchester (Greater Manchester) - Skies above Bury
Type: UFO
Date / Time: Late 1990s
Further Comments: Several circular bright lights were observed by a man walking his dog in the night sky. The balls were all different sizes and travelled very fast in a zigzag motion, creating no sound. The man was left shaken after watching the display but did not contact the authorities fearing they would think he was mad.

Dark Torpedo

Further Comments: Reported as being over thirty metres long, this long, thin scareship of unknown origin passed over the town late at night.

Fast Moving Light

Location: Marlow (Buckinghamshire) - Skies over the town
Type: UFO
Date / Time: Circa 1999, summer, 02:00h
Further Comments: Two people in a garden watched a light in the sky as it moved fast, suddenly stop, and move back on itself before disappearing.

Domed Object

Location: Meriden (West Midlands) - Footpath in area, exact location not known
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 1940
Further Comments: While out walking, Cathie Connelly encountered an illuminated domed object surrounded by tall men wearing one-piece overalls. The men had strangely tall foreheads, and one man cleaned his hands using a duster smiled at the witness. As Connelly left the area, she turned back and realised they had gone.

Orange Lights

Location: N19 (Greater London) - Skies above Archway

Date / Time: 2 February 2007, 17:30h
Further Comments: It was reported that traffic was brought to a standstill when between 10 - 15 orange lights were seen moving in a southerly direction. The UFOs all moved at the same speed, before stopping and moving upwards. The sighting lasted for about ten minutes.

Triangular Object

Location: Nacton (Suffolk) - Unidentified car park
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 1998, 01:00h
Further Comments: Two friends sitting in this car park watched as a large, brightly illuminated triangular craft pass overhead. After the sighting, as they tried to drive away, the car froze, as if held in place by an unseen force.

Aurora?

Location: Ness (Outer Hebrides) - Skies over the area
Type: UFO
Date / Time: Mid-1990s
Further Comments: The strange doughnut-shaped exhaust trail left across the sky is said by some to have been created by the top secret US hypersonic Aurora spy plane.

Soldier Shot by UFO

Location: Newbiggon on Sea (Northumberland) - Old RAF base
Type: UFO
Date / Time: September 1942
Further Comments: A soldier once based here alleged, in later life, to have been abducted while on guard duty at the base. Remembering the abduction from his dreams, the man claimed he fell unconscious after being hit by a thin beam of light.

Orange Ball

Location: Newcastle Under Lyme (Staffordshire) - Over Wolstanton Marsh
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 03 February 1985
Further Comments: A police officer reported watching a spherical orange object pass directly overhead, moving from north to south. Three other witnesses were with the officer at the time.

Orange Lights

Location: Northrepps (Norfolk) - Sky above North Walsham Road
Type: UFO
Date / Time: July 2015
Further Comments: A witness reported watching dozens of bright orange lights high up in the air. The lights were visible for several minutes before fading out and were compared to missile countermeasures used by military aircraft.

Banana

Location: NW2 (Greater London) - Above Wembley Stadium
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 15 and 17 March 1985
Further Comments: A flying banana shaped object was seen in the sky over the stadium a couple of times. It was described as bright and made up of several different colours.

Scareship

Location: NW2 (Greater London) - Dollis Hill
Type: UFO
Date / Time: February 1932
Further Comments: A possible early ufo encounter. A married couple spotted two men wearing caps working on a cylinder-shaped craft perched on the ground. As the married couple approached for a better look, the men disappeared, and the craft took off.

Bus Sized UFO

Location: Oldham (Greater Manchester) - Saddleworth Moor, near Dovestones Reservoir
Type: UFO
Date / Time: December 2006
Further Comments: Saddleworth Moor has been home to many strange and curious sightings of UFOs over the years, the largest of which was the size of a British double decker bus seen in 1975. More recently, six lights spread out in a hexagon pattern which vanished after several seconds were seen in the sky, quickly followed by a sighting of a strange van which also vanished.

Orford Ness, Suffolk.

Pair of Lights

Location: Orford (Suffolk) - Orford Ness

Date / Time: 1970s
Further Comments: A couple of men watched two lights hovering quite close to the water, which darted off at incredible speed as they approached. The area was home to Project Cobra Mist, which involved radar waves that followed the earth's curvature.

Power Cut

Location: Ormskirk (Lancashire) - Southport Road
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 1979 or 1980
Further Comments: A witness recalled how bright orange lights had moved across this area and cars stopped, their power drained. Fazakerley Hospital windows were damaged on the same night.

V

Location: Outer London: Uxbridge (Greater London) - Skies over Hillingdon
Type: UFO
Date / Time: January 1985
Further Comments: Larger than a jumbo jet, this V shaped craft was only spotted for a few seconds before disappearing.

Light Show

Location: Paignton (Devon) - Skies over the area
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 23 September 2007, between midnight and 02:00h
Further Comments: Several witnesses in different areas of Paignton reported seeing up to one hundred orange, green and red lights in the sky. Witness accounts varied - one person said they moved in formation, while another reported some were moving to the left while others to the right. One person reported a blue light that the other ufos moved towards.

Yellow Lights

Further Comments: A driver stopped his car to watch five large yellow lights hanging in the sky above the village. The balls disappeared after thirty seconds.

Green Flash

Location: Pershore (Hereford & Worcester) - Skies above the area
Type: UFO
Date / Time: Circa 2005
Further Comments: One witness reported seeing a green flash in the sky, followed by a green light 'swirling' before vanishing.

Scareship

Location: Peterborough (Cambridgeshire) - Skies over Peterborough
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 23 March 1909
Further Comments: Seen by two police officers, this UFO resembled a large airship, travelling at a then unheard of speed.

Orange Lights

Further Comments: Four orange lights were seen moving across the sky at night, their speed said to be several times quicker than other aircraft.

Ship

Location: Portland (Dorset) - Exact location not known, was observed from Lyme
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 23 April 1661, 15:00h
Further Comments: A strange ship appeared in the skies over Portland for seven or eight minutes. Sails, rigging, and men armed with pikes could be observed on board, and the vessel was accompanied by stormy weather.

Silent Vulcan

Location: Preston (Lancashire) - Sky near to the university campus
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 1996
Further Comments: Christened the 'Silent Vulcan' by students because of its similarity to a Vulcan bomber (but without any sound), this large aircraft was seen by a student in the skies of Preston. He stated the object shot off towards the dock area, moving at incredible speed.

Space Man

Location: Rainham (Kent) - Sky above Medway
Type: UFO
Date / Time: May 2017
Further Comments: Mark Taylor photographed a strange man floating high in the sky. After local press picked up the story it was revealed the sighting occurred on the same day a child had their life-sized stormtrooper balloon swept away by the wind.

Rugby Ball

Location: Ramsden Heath (Essex) - Skies over Hanningfield Reservoir
Type: UFO
Date / Time: February (?) 1985
Further Comments: A zigzagging rugby ball shaped object, larger than an aircraft, was reported by a witness. The ufo was surrounded by red and orange lights.
