Further Comments: Heard dragging chains as it ran, this phantom hound is said to be invisible, though it has been touched by witnesses as it passes them. A similar story is told in Stourpaine, Dorset.

Further Comments: Two employees would be woken at 02:15h by their alarms over a two week period, although neither had set their devices. The figure of a young woman quickly vanished after being spotted by one employee, and a cat would appear in the building before disappearing in areas with no possible exist. Finally, men (but never women) would find one room particularly disturbing, with builders refusing to work within and guests leaving during the night.

Further Comments: The ghosts of a man and his dog haunt the site of former railway tracks just outside this bistro, where it is believed they were killed by a steam engine.

Further Comments: This park is said to be haunted by a figure wearing a habit near the gates of the lodge, a white lady who drowned in a lake while eloping, and a strange animal with very large eyes.

Further Comments: Driving past the mine in bad weather, a driver and his passenger felt a strange negative sensation wash over them. The driver slammed on the brakes and as the car stopped, they spotted a bloody horse standing in the lights. The driver started to climb out of his car to move the horse out of the road, but the creature had gone - there was a steep drop to one side of the road and a wire fence to the other side.

Further Comments: Elliott O'Donnell wrote that a medium who receded here believed her home to be haunted by several cats, which were mistreated by a former owner of the property. The medium also detected the presence of a fox terrier.

Further Comments: Home to several ghosts, the monkey was accidentally bricked up behind a wall and now tries to escape. Headless figures allegedly sit around the dinner table, duellists re-enact their last fights outside, and a grey lady walks through walls in the east wing.

Further Comments: The (former) owner of Miss Ellie, a dead hamster which was buried on the goal line of this football ground, claimed that the animal's spirit had prevented Reading FC being relegated.

Further Comments: It is not clear if the woman in white, a large black hound and a black hog which once haunted this area were all the same entity. The phantom (or phantoms) would all suddenly grow once seen, before pursuing any witness.

Further Comments: While walking by the river, Mr Morgan heard horses approaching from behind but could not see anything. As the sound reached him, Morgan leapt to one side and watched as a team of horses pulling a coach appear from nowhere. The coach contained a woman who looked out of the window at the witness. Instead of following the road, the coach entered nearby woodland and vanished.

Further Comments: Built on a farm, one house here was reportedly haunted by pigs in the garden. Poltergeist-like activity was reported inside the building itself, including exploding cups and electrical equipment powering itself up and off.

Further Comments: A farmer heard a galloping horse rapidly approaching him, even though he could not see the creature. Moments later, there was a crashing sound, and a large gust of wind passed the man, even though the creature remained invisible.

Further Comments: An old woman who lived in this cottage was convinced it was haunted by a black cat, which she believed was her mother, due to the way it walked.
