A water fairy.
Location: The Black Mountain / Myddfai - Llyn y Fan Fach mountain lake

Further Comments: A legend tells of a lake fairy that once emerged from Llyn y Fan Fach and married a local man. She eventually returned home to the lake after her husband hit her, but only after bearing him three sons; she later returned to teach them medical skills.

Further Comments: Henry Rees, the principal lighthouse keeper, had a dream in which a ship sank but he managed to save three lives. Rees shared the story with a visitor, who laughed the story off. A week later, when the visitor returned to the lighthouse, he discovered the dream had come true - a Norwegian steamer had sunk off the rocks, and Rees had saved three of the crew.

Tregaron burns before the flood.

Further Comments: This lake covers what is said to be the original Tregaron - within a few hours, the village was burnt to the ground and then flooded with water to atone for the sins of the evil villagers, who all died during the event.

Further Comments: One witness heard invisible hounds moving down the road. Shortly after, a woman visiting Trelech died, and the route her body was taken matched that of the phantom dogs.

Further Comments: A driver was reported to have seen a ghostly stagecoach moving slowly up the road before disappearing close to a pub.

Further Comments: Residents in this property reported a ghost which could be heard entering the bedroom and wishing them a 'good night' before leaving again.
Location: Whitland - Area close to or between the abbey ruins and River Taf

Further Comments: A fisherman witnessed the ground shake and a loud whistle fill the air. Moments later, the sound of 'a thousand wheels' panicked nearby horses which leapt into the river to escape. The witness considered his experience an ill omen, and although nothing untoward occurred to the man or his family, a few years later the South Wales Railway company dug out a tunnel which crossed the land where the event had occurred.

Further Comments: A glowing light which appeared to flit around an office was witnessed by several people after dark. The following night, the light returned even brighter, and this time a woman and two men could be seen moving around the building. Nothing occurred on the third night. It was debated whether the 'ghosts' were paranormal entities or three people playing a joke.

Further Comments: An entity which took to haunting this bridge would terrify people into jumping over the edge after a 'cold dread' took over their bodies. On man claimed that he had seen the ghost which grinned a ghastly grin.

Dealing with the Devil.

Further Comments: This local wizard had made a pact with Satan, and in return for power Llyyd's soul would belong to Old Nick whether 'buried inside a churchyard or out'. On his deathbed, the wily wizard asked his friends to bury him under the churchyard wall, thus preventing the Devil taking his due.
