Further Comments: During an 'MTV Asks Ed Sheeran' interview, Ed Sheeran declared his cottage to be haunted by the ghost of a little girl. Visitors to the cottage had seen the entity and cleaning staff refused to enter the haunted room.

Leaping Cat

Location: Glemsford - Cornfield in the area

Further Comments: A witness watched a large black cat as it leapt around in a cornfield, as if hunting. A week later the witness and a friend came across footprints almost the size of dinner plates in the same field.

Monk

Heavy Dragging Upstairs

Location: Great Cornard - Abbas Hall

Further Comments: Sounds of something being dragged in the upper part of the building, together with footsteps, have been reported, as have sightings of an old woman looking through the windows of the house. One story claims the ghost of a hooded nun walks through the area, sometimes accompanied by eerie harpsichord music. In 1952, seven American servicemen from Lakenheath spent the night on the site and reported the temperature fluctuating from stifling hot to freezing cold, and hearing bells pealing through the building. Finally, a secret tunnel is said to run from the hall to the former Highbury Barn public house.

Face

Location: Great Livermere - Rectory

Further Comments: Author M R James was said, as a child, to have looked out his window and seen a ghostly face, pink and hot, staring back at him from the outside wall. On a 1995 TV programme about the author, a local woman said that a few folk had seen apparitions in the area outside the rectory and that dogs did not like to go near the area.

Lady in Red

Further Comments: This phantom lady dressed in red reputedly steps in the path of incoming traffic only to vanish just before impact. A phantom cyclist is also said to haunt the roads in the village, though reports vary to the type of bicycle he rides.

Three Men

Location: Great Waldingfield - Road to Sudbury, near the public house
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 2012
Further Comments: Three men wearing long coats and large boots were spotted on the road by a driver. Convincing they were going to hit one of the men, the driver slammed on their brakes; the figures vanished, leaving the witness quite shocked. The witness was later told that the area was once a US air base during the Second World War, and that other people had encountered phantom airmen and even heard old aircraft in the area.

Opening Door

Squire Baker

Vanishing Man

Further Comments: George Davey awoke to find a man in his bedroom, reaching above the wardrobe. The figure wore a brown overcoat and Tilbury hat. George grabbed his nearby shotgun, only to watch the figure vanish. The entity's shoes and socks remained for a second longer, before also vanishing.
