Further Comments: Home of five ghosts in total, the grey lady has been seen within the building with a set of keys dangling from her belt. The screams of a man falling down a well (no longer present) are still heard in the garden, a tall man dressed in black rubbing a ring stands in the drawing room, while two other ghostly women have been reported, one seen and the other heard as her dress rustles down a corridor.

Further Comments: Villagers would visit the wells on New Year's morning in the hope of being the first to sip the waters and obtaining 'the Flower of the Well', a supernatural gift which enabled the bestowed to fly and pass through keyholes, amongst other abilities.

Further Comments: Noticed by people who live near the Abbey, animals are supposed to act defensively in the evening, as if a stranger were walking past. Years before this was noticed, a local tale stated that the sounds of somebody using a non-existent well could be heard on the site - this was long before two old wells were discovered and excavated.
