Further Comments: A witness walked towards a lady wearing a long cloak that concealed her face. The lady also had with her a small dog and spoke to the witness as they passed, but as the witness turned to respond, both lady and dog had vanished.

Further Comments: This ghost, thought to be that of a hanged man, was recognisable due to the handles resembling those from a large pot which sat on his neck.

Further Comments: A local legend said that a former owner of Maqueston had killed several children and hidden their remains around the area. The wailing of the ghosts was said to have driven away several servants of the new owner.

Further Comments: The area around the castle is haunted by a decapitated horseman. The ghost is thought to be a man who tried to marry a girl residing at the castle, but her brothers chased him away. During the pursuit, the young man fell from his horse and lost his head.
