Further Comments: Throughout the 1950s, patients would report a ghostly woman in a green apron pushing a trolley through the sick quarters, disappearing through a door. In 2008, during a visit to Bletchley Park, four visitors sitting in a car heard a disembodied voice giving instructions to fill in log sheets.

Further Comments: Wearing a red coat, this phantom is thought to be a local girl named Anna, who died ten days before her wedding day in 1766. Her ghost was said to be quite common during the mid-nineteenth century, though sightings died down until she was seen again during the 1950s and 1960s.

Further Comments: After the death of a prominent local lady, a family living at the rear of her property started to hear crunching gravel on the driveway, together with the sounds of a car, although no vehicle would ever be seen. After the family moved away, they were told the lady could be seen brushing her hair through the window of her former home.

Further Comments: The body of the priest was found in a concealed priest hole early in the twentieth century - it was thought to be around four hundred years old. Since then, the phantom image of a holy man has been seen walking the building.

Further Comments: This building is haunted by a tall female Quaker wearing a black dress with high collar. She is more likely to be encountered in the upper parts of the building, though has been known to tap men on the shoulder while they stand in the men's toilets.

Further Comments: A witness walking their dog spotted a young woman in Edwardian clothing glide left to right across a path before vanishing from view. A few weeks previous the same witness had seen a similar woman with a child, both dressed all in white, walking along a parallel path. They had vanished before the two paths intersected.

Further Comments: A teenage witness felt a tingling on his back moments before spotting a grey head, with no body, floating nearby. The head had the face of an old man with a small, pointed beard. Other witnesses reported the same entity, almost always in the same place. A ghostly nun carrying a set of keys also haunted the area. Later, possibly circa 1960, building work at a nearby summerhouse became disrupted by something throwing bricks and other objects around the site.

Further Comments: A former landlord can sometimes be heard playing the violin, deep within the heart of the building. Phantom footfalls have also been reported.

Further Comments: Heavy footsteps have been reported in various parts of this house, as have softer sounds that resemble someone moving with an injured leg. The door leading to a secret room is opened and closed by an unseen hand.

Further Comments: Occupiers of a van travelling at fifty miles per hour along this road encountered a tall man dressed in brown old fashioned clothing who ran out from a slip road and continued to travel down the central reservation, moving faster than the witnesses.

Further Comments: Within the space of a week, two motorcyclists reported a strange figure dressed in black who leapt from a gate into their path, only to vanish on impact.

Further Comments: A member of staff in the toilets kicked a cubical door to check whether it was locked - it was, but no one was inside. As the staff member went to leave the room, there was a loud 'kick' from inside the cubical.

Further Comments: These phantom animals, said to be small in stature, have been heard fighting and snorting on this ancient site.

Further Comments: Several shades were said to haunt this building, including a one legged soldier who roamed the north end of the main corridor (the ghost made babies cry if he appeared in the maternity ward), and an entity known as 'The Flincher' who had been seen in the southern part of the hospital. This ghost had chased people out of the building with a crash and a loud shriek.

Further Comments: This strange looking figure has been observed twice on different occasions - both reports described the entity as having no hands and being dressed in green, though while one witness said the figure had a green face and stood just over five foot high, the other stated it had no head at all and was seven feet tall.

Further Comments: Mayne, said to have been King Charles I's executioner, spent the last years of his life in a cave in this area after being stripped of his property and funds. His ghost is said to haunt the folly, even though it was constructed many years after his death.

Further Comments: As a driver came around the bend into the village, they spotted a person, around six foot tall and dressed in a full habit with a cowl covering the head. The habit was a sandy brown colour. The driver was moving quite slowly, and as they watched the figure walked away from their car on the path outside of the church, it literally disappeared. Up until that point, the figure had appeared quite solid and was walking with intention.
