Renown primarily for the chilling atmospheric moors, the diversity of the Yorkshire landscape should not be underestimated; the ruins of many a grand building litter the land, while numerous rivers pass through village and townscapes that have changed little since their construction. A few of the industrial zones remain scarred from years of environmental mismanagement, though none can doubt the importance that heavy industry once played here. The paranormal jewel of Yorkshire is, of course, York, holding the official title of 'Most Haunted City in England'.
