Further Comments: The figure of a naked Roman soldier (how you tell without a uniform to assist you?) has apparently been seen running around the centre of the town. A police officer once gave chase, only to see the figure fade into the air.

Admiral Phillip

Location: Bath - Assembly Rooms, and Saville Row and Bennett Street

Further Comments: Phillip, the first governor of New South Wales, has been seen dozens of times over the past fifty or so years, always wearing the same black hat and long cloak.

Eyeless Face

Location: Bath - Barton Hall

Further Comments: The ghost in this building could have been mistaken for a real person, apart from the fact that it had two gapping holes where its eyes should have been. Another report said that the entity possessed a white face that had no features, just smooth skin.

Tiny the Dog

Further Comments: Beckford's pet, Tiny was once buried by the tower, though his ghost returned after the remains were moved.

Bunty

Location: Bath - Beehive public house

Further Comments: A former Victorian worker at the pub, Bunty makes fleeting appearances around the hallway dressed in a blue / grey gown.

Monk

Location: Bath - Crystal Palace public house, 10 Abbey Green

Further Comments: This figure is reported to materialise when building work is carried out inside the property. The ghostly monk is reported to be quite transparent.

Cellar Dweller

Location: Bath - Devonshire Arms, Wellsway

Further Comments: The basement of this public house is reportedly haunted by a girl who was killed on the nearby railway lines. One member of staff reported feeling invisible hands tugging at their clothing.

Footsteps

Further Comments: Staff and visitors to the building have heard footsteps coming from an empty room here.

Further Comments: This area is haunted by several ghosts, all wearing clothing which places them to the Civil War era (the hill was the site of a battle).

Old Soldiers

Raining Jellyfish

Further Comments: Some parts of the town were covered in thousands of jellyfish that apparently fell from the sky.

White Haired Man

Further Comments: This white haired man has appeared several times, only to suddenly vanish.

Humming

Further Comments: The sound of a young person humming and quiet whispers have been heard in the building. A blonde haired girl with a blue dress was briefly spotted by one witness.

Swans

Further Comments: The story states that if all the swans leave the estate, the owners will soon die and lose their bloodline.

Lady Louisa

Location: Bath - Longleat House, corridor known as Green Lady's Walk

Further Comments: The Lady Louisa, caught inside an unhappy marriage, engaged herself in an affair of the heart with another man. Her husband, on discovering this, was less than happy and killed the other man. Louisa now walks the aptly named corridor in regret.

Juliana

Location: Bath - Popjoy's Restaurant

Further Comments: Beau Nash's mistress Juliana is reported to haunt this restaurant, as is another ghostly woman wearing clothing from the 1960s. They say the latter figure looks perfectly solid until she vanishes...

Julia

Further Comments: Dressed in her wedding dress, Julia walks around this area. It is possible she searches for the man who jilted her at the alter.

Eloping Elizabeth

Location: Bath - Royal Crescent

Further Comments: The phantom coach and horses reputed to haunt this area contain Elizabeth Linley and Richard Brinsley Sheridan as they elope time after time.

Old Fashioned Lady

Location: Bath - Second floor flat at Grosvenor Place

Further Comments: Seen by a husband and wife couple, this monochromic figure silently drifted through their living room, terrifying the pet cat. More recently, she has been observed on the staircase.

Grey Lady

Location: Bath - Theatre Royal & Garrick's Head Hotel

Date / Time: 25 December (butterfly seen), Grey Lady last seen 1975
Further Comments: An actress from the 1880's, this lady killed herself in the hotel when she discovered her husband had murdered her secret lover. Her last performance at the theatre was the night of her death, and there she wore a grey feather dress - the same clothing she still wears. A butterfly is also reported to haunt the theatre, manifesting briefly once a year.

Old Servant

Further Comments: This faithful servant now refuses to leave the house, suffering guilt for allowing two children to starve to death. One of the children is said to still be around, as is his mother who manifests as a Grey Lady.
