Sisters

Further Comments: These two standing stones are said to be sisters who were petrified after committing an unknown sin.

Grey Men

Location: Chysauster - Area of ancient village

Further Comments: This site is thought to be haunted by small men, the original villagers, who lived here between 100 BC and 300 AD.

The Future

Location: Colan - Our Lady of Nantes Well (aka Our Lady of Nant's Well)

Date / Time: Palm Sunday (reoccurring)
Further Comments: The future could be perceived by casting a palm cross into the water of the well on Palm Sunday.

Fairy Led

Location: Constantine Bay - Near church ruins
Type: Fairy
Date / Time: Unknown, but pre twentieth century
Further Comments: Local man Jan Brewer found himself lost while walking home, despite walking the route thousands of times previous. While trying to find a familiar landmark, Jan stumbled across dozens of tiny people who formed a circle around him and compelled the man to dance. Remembering a piece of folklore concerning the local piskeys, Jan turned his coat pockets inside out; the piskeys vanished and Jan could see his home a short distance away.

Finny

Location: Crafthole - Finnygook Inn
Type: Haunting Manifestation

Further Comments: Finny was a smuggler killed in a fight with revenue men outside the pub, as he tried to transport stolen goods away from his popular hideout. His shade is blamed whenever anything out of the normal happens in the building.

Pirate

Location: Crantock - Albion Public House
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: Parts of this building were made from recycled timbers from HMS Coventry, and the phantom pirate thought to haunt here may have come with them. Disembodied voices have also been heard calling to people using their names, and an older man in a brown suit has also been named as another ghost on the site.

Cloaked Figure

Location: Cremyll - B3247, leading to Cremyll Ferry Terminal
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: July 2014, circa 19:00h
Further Comments: A driver and passenger watched as a dark shadow, around 1.2 metres in height, cross the road ahead of them. The shadow looked like someone wearing a cloak, although no legs were visible. The witnesses stopped and looked around for an explanation, but none were forthcoming.

Ship

Further Comments: This area is said to be haunted by a large white ship, with its sails bellowing, even if there is no wind.

Flo

Location: Duporth - Duporth Holiday Village
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Late twentieth century
Further Comments: The former site of the manor house, the haunting by a nun dates back hundreds of years. Though she is rarely seen, Flo is blamed for any abnormal event around the site.

Morgawr Monster

Location: Falmouth - Bay
Type: Cryptozoology
Date / Time: 1975 / 1976 onwards
Further Comments: This huge lizard was seen several times during 1976 - one witness managed to take a couple of photographs of the creature. Several years prior to this sighting, two fishermen reportedly caught a hairy monster about six metres in length, five kilometres off the coast. In the mid-1980s a student volunteer witnessed what he described as a 'dinosaur powering out to sea'.

Hopping Creature

Location: Falmouth - Between Swanpool and Maenporth
Type: Cryptozoology

Further Comments: Several witnesses came forward over the first few months of 2009 claiming to have spotted a strange creature in bushes and trees in the area. Descriptions varied slightly between sightings, with one witness describing it as slightly larger than a dog, with a cat's face, walking on its hind legs. Another witness said it hopped away.

Brewery Worker

Further Comments: Local folklore places the ghost of a former brewery worker in the snooker room.

Cold Spots

Location: Falmouth - Pendennis Castle
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 17 June 1982
Further Comments: One witness reported encountering cold spots in the armoury, even though it was a bright summer's day. They also felt intense misery in the room, though when they returned the following day, nothing untoward could be detected.

Victorian Girls

Location: Falmouth - Penmere Station
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Mid 1990s, approximately 01:00h
Further Comments: While walking home, a witness heard loud, distorted music coming from the station. He went to investigate and encountered two girls dressed in Victorian clothing (but no source of the music). One pointed down the tracks, as if she wanted the witness to follow, but he decided to turn around and leave the site.

Kitchen Party

Further Comments: Over a period of months, the sound of people chatting and joking could be heard coming from an empty kitchen. When investigated, the sound always stopped.

Sunken Rings

Location: Forrabury - Off coast
Type: Haunting Manifestation

Further Comments: These bells can sometimes still be heard to peal - they were lost as the ship due to deliver them sunk just off the coast.

Holy Grail

Location: Fowey - Castle Dore

Further Comments: According to Arthurian legend, the Grail was once housed at this hillfort.

Soldier

Location: Fowey - Fowey Hotel

Further Comments: A soldier is said to walk through the wall in Room 306, while elsewhere a phantom sailor pleads his innocence to a crime he did not commit.

Storm

Location: Fowey - Menhir in the area

Further Comments: A group of men tried to remove this stone to reach the mythical treasure beneath. A storm blew up, the wind, thunder and lightning driving them away.

Shapes

Location: Fowey - Safe Harbour Hotel

Further Comments: Licensee Angela Husband told the local press that people had reportedly seen ghostly shapes in this hotel.

Alice

Location: Fowey - Ship Inn

Further Comments: The phantom identified as Alice is said to sometimes be accompanied by a black dog. Alice is held accountable for the disembodied footfalls sometimes heard.

Knight of the Round Table

Location: Fowey - The Tristan Stone

Further Comments: This stone is thought to have marked the position of the grave of one of the knights of the round table, though it has been moved at least once since being placed.

Poisoned Husband

Location: Germoe - Pengersick Castle
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 2000s
Further Comments: Master Millington tried to poison his wife, but ended up killing himself - for his mistake, he is doomed to spend the rest of time here. A phantom knight has also been reported, sporting a white tabard with a red cross. More recently, footsteps have been heard in the main bedroom at night.

Funeral Procession

Further Comments: This phantom line of people was reported walking past the building. A white woman, once married to the First Earl of Godolphin, is also said to climb out from a closet and walk along the terrace.
