Further Comments: The original building which stood here was haunted by three ghostly figures, though they departed after one old lady spoke to them. Location: West Pentire - Manor House guest house
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 28 April 2004
Further Comments: A former vicar, Dr Pussey now looks from the lounge window overlooking the garden. He also has a habit of moving items around the guest house and causing unexplained banging, as a married couple discovered while staying in the building while on holiday - the entire household was woken by a huge crash from the kitchen, though on investigation nothing was found broken or moved.

One stone was known as the Witches Stone and anyone who touched it nine times at midnight was warded against ill-luck. The stone was removed at some point in the nineteenth century.

Witchcraft Giver

Location: Zennor - Giant's Rock (was a Logan Stone)
Type: Legend

Further Comments: A woman living in poverty in this area bequeathed her shawl to a local young girl. When the wish was not fulfilled, the woman's ghost returned and started to stalk the girl. One witness challenged the ghost, and after being told the reason for the return, ensured the girl was given the shawl. Before vanishing forever, the ghost performed one last act - it carried the girl to the woman's grave (in Ludgvan), where the girl's shoe fell off. No one wanted to risk upsetting the ghost for a second time, so left the shoe on the woman's grave.

Once James carried out this act, the ghostly John announced that he was off to Fiddler's Green and was never heard of again.
