Daffyd Ddu

Further Comments: Former vicar and black magician, Daffyd made a pact with the Devil to take his soul 'whether buried in the churchyard or out'. Needless to say, the wizard cheated Old Nick by ensuring his body was buried under the boundary wall.

Jane Jones
Location: Treuddyn Mold (Clwyd) - Penyffordd Farm

Further Comments: This farmhouse is home to many strange phenomena, including a phantom named Jane Jones (whose gravestone was discovered under the lawn), a ghostly monk who looks 'real' until he vanishes, and poltergeist-like behaviour. After an Irish couple reported seen visions of the Virgin Mary in the field, the location also became a mini pilgrimage site.

Stagecoach
Location: Trimsaran (Dyfed) - Area of road between Llanelli and Trimsaran, between Farriers Arms and speed camera

Further Comments: A driver was reported to have seen a ghostly stagecoach moving slowly up the road before disappearing close to a pub.

Drowned Beast
Location: Tywyn (Gwynedd) - Llyn Barfog (aka Bearded Lake)
Type: Cryptozoology
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: A monster which made a nuisance of itself in the neighbourhood was killed by the hero Huw Gadarn, who drowned the creature. Another tale says that the hero involved was King Arthur. The area is also known for its fairies.

Ghost Train
Location: Tywyn ((formerly known as Towyn) (Gwynedd) - Talylln Railway, the Dolgoch Viaduct

Further Comments: Seen by climbers, a black shape was watched as it darted along the track at midnight. Local people have reported hearing whistles and watching lights on the track late at night after the last trains have ceased.

Figure in Gown

Further Comments: Spotted in Room 3, the jury is out to whether this intangible figure is a former serving girl or a monk.

Man in Gold Laced Suit
Location: Welshpool (Powys) - Powis Castle
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: 1780
Further Comments: This haunting ended when a new maid was placed in a haunted bedroom as a joke planned by the other workers; she listened to the ghost instead of running like so many had done in the past, and as a reward the supernatural being led her to a box hidden under a floorboard. This was later presented to her master who rewarded the maid with freedom and a cottage. The ghost was seen no more.

Drowned Schoolboy
Location: Wrexham (Clwyd) - Erddig Estate, the '46 steps'

Further Comments: A local legend from this area relates to the untimely death of a young lad who drowned nearby. He has appeared several times over the years, dressed in his old school uniform.

Distorted Mist

Further Comments: The strange mist seen moving slowly around the tree base may be connected to the previous usage of the thick branches.

One Eyed Cleaner
Location: Wrexham (Clwyd) - Stiwt Theatre

Further Comments: Paranormal team Soulsearchers Northwest UK investigated this building and claimed to make contact with several spirits, including a cleaner with one eye, and young child who fell from a balcony and a former manager.

Shattering Glasses
Location: Wrexham (Clwyd) - Thirsty Scholar public house

Further Comments: A vicar was summoned to bless the pub after staff reported glasses shattering in their hands and items being thrown around the building. Some say the public house was once used as a mortuary.

Tall Officer
Location: Wrexham (Clwyd) - Wrexham police station
Type: Unknown Ghost Type
Date / Time: Summer 2003
Further Comments: While refuelling a van in the yard, Special Constable Mark Davies spotted the reflection of a tall policeman standing behind him in one of the windows. Davies turned to speak to the officer, but there was no one there. It was speculated that the ghostly figure was a motorcyclist who had died a few months earlier.

Humming Woman

Further Comments: This phantom white woman was seen moving slowly along, humming a tune to herself. The ghost would vanish near to the edge of a cliff.

Sir Dafydd Llwyd
Location: Yspytty Ystwyth (Dyfed) - Church wall
Type: Legend - Old Nick

Further Comments: This local wizard had made a pact with Satan, and in return for power Llyyd's soul would belong to Old Nick whether 'buried inside a churchyard or out'. On his deathbed, the wily wizard asked his friends to bury him under the churchyard wall, thus preventing the Devil taking his due.

Hidden Gold
Location: Ystradgynlais (Powys) - Mynydd y Drum summit

Further Comments: The hoard of treasure hidden under rocks on the top of this mountain is protected by demonic entities which attack anyone close to discovering the gold.
