Misleading Old Woman

Further Comments: This spooky old woman calls out to walkers, trying to lure them from the footpaths so they become lost. She can be recognised by her large four cornered hat and the large pot she carries.

White Woman

Location: Llanvihangel Crucorney - Between Llanvihangel Court and Lady Wood

Further Comments: This pallid figure moves from the hall and disappears into the nearby wood. There have also been sightings of a short man dressed in green.

Monks

Location: Llanvihangel Crucorney - Llanthony Priory, in the Vale of Ewyas

Further Comments: This location is said to be haunted by the monks that once walked here. The Blaenavon Paranormal Investigation Team have reported recording EVP and observing a grey figure.

Swimming Stone

Further Comments: This stone, standing over three metres in height, goes for a swim in the nearby river if woken up at night.

Blue Woman

Location: Monmouth - Area around Hadnock

Further Comments: This area was said to be the haunt of a blue female form, although her history is unknown.

Horse

Location: Monmouth - Monnow Street, around Chippenham House area

Further Comments: The echoing sounds of a horse trotting have been heard, though the reasons why are not clear.

Cloak and Legs

Location: Monmouth - Shire Hall Court

Further Comments: A caretaker reported seeing a black cloak and the bottom of a pair of legs disappear behind a pillar - investigating further, he found no one in the area. Doors have also been said to close themselves, and the smell of perfume also fills the air. A visiting medium stated the building was haunted by a judge.

Strange Man

Further Comments: A phantom man wearing either eighteenth or nineteenth century garb appears to announce the death of a local.

Leap or Push?

Location: Monmouth - Watery Lane

Further Comments: Though nothing exists of the stream that once ran through here, it has not deterred the appearance of a phantom man who drowned in its waters. It is not known whether he took is own life or was pushed.

Further Comments: A horse drawn coach has occasionally been spotted in this area.

Looks Like Stormy Weather

Further Comments: When a man tried to find the hidden hoard of gold contained within the manmade mound, a huge storm blew up scaring the (would-be) thief away.

Juan White

Location: Nantyglo - Milfraen Mountain

Further Comments: A local witch, Juan White is thought to now haunt this location. She was seen in 2004 by a couple of people who also heard the sound of galloping horses just prior to their sighting, though they could not see any of the creatures.

Elf Meet

Evil People

Location: Newcastle (Monmouthshire) - Former site of castle

Further Comments: This site of a former motte and bailey castle is said to be haunted by the spirits of all those who have committed evil deeds.

Blue Lady

Location: Newport - Church

Further Comments: A lady wearing a blue dress or veil is seen in a church yard where a local tsunami washed away many of the graves. It is thought that the phantom woman once lived in the village and would look out of the church tower towards the sea, hoping for her sailor husband to return.

Robert FitzHamon

Further Comments: The protective structure is haunted by the giant figure of FitzHamon, the castle's builder.

Annie Webb

Location: Newport - Private house along Corporation Street

Further Comments: When Annie was found, only a pair of legs, piece of arm and skull remained. A white tablecloth lay untouched nearby.

Hooded Figure

Location: Newport - Royal Gwent Hospital

Further Comments: One report sent to the Paranormal Database stated that both patients and nurses on one ward spotted a hooded monk-like figure. Another report says that a day room is home to an entity which pushes down on people's chests.

White Figure

Location: Newport - Sea wall

Further Comments: A white figure was spotted walking in the thick mud (which is impossible to walk in at a normal pace). The person vanished after being watched for around 15 seconds. A local legend has it that the area suffered a tsunami years ago and all the bodies apart from one where washed out to sea.

Three Nuns

Location: Newport - Spytty Park

Further Comments: A group of four friends watched a trio of nuns drift across the field ahead of them. The ghosts moved in a perfectly straight line apart from one ninety degree turn, before vanishing.

Big Bertha

Location: Newport - University of Wales College, Caerleon Campus
Type: Haunting Manifestation
Date / Time: Late twentieth century
Further Comments: Bertha Ramsey, a 6 foot tall matron at the campus, was found dead at the base of a set of stairs in 1962 - it was unsure whether she tripped or if she was pushed. Her ghost has been seen since, and is blamed for playing with the elevators after dark. Another ghost seen on site is that of a Roman centurion, as the building was constructed on the site of an ancient burial site.

White Woman

Further Comments: Dressed all in white, this woman committed suicide in the pond where her ghost now vanishes.
