Further Comments: A police officer reported watching a spherical orange object pass directly overhead, moving from north to south. Three other witnesses were with the officer at the time.

Further Comments: A flying banana shaped object was seen in the sky over the stadium a couple of times. It was described as bright and made up of several different colours.

Further Comments: A possible early ufo encounter - a married couple spotted two men wearing caps working on a cylinder-shaped craft perched on the ground. As they approached for a better look, the men disappeared and the craft took off.

Orange Orbs
Location: Old Felixstowe (Suffolk) - Skies northwards

Date / Time: 01 July 2006
Further Comments: On a very hot summer evening two orange orbs were seen falling from the sky. Moving extremely fast, they appeared to chase each other. The objects were watched for around ten seconds before dropping behind the horizon, disappearing from view.

Bus Sized UFO
Location: Oldham (Lancashire) - Saddleworth Moor, near Dovestones Reservoir
Type: UFO
Date / Time: December 2006
Further Comments: Saddleworth Moor has been home to many strange and curious sightings of UFOs over the years, the largest of which was the size of a British double decker bus seen in 1975. More recently, six lights spread out in a hexagon pattern which vanished after several seconds were seen in the sky, quickly followed by a sighting of a strange van which also vanished.

Pair of Lights
Location: Orford (Suffolk) - Orford Ness

Further Comments: A couple of men watched two lights hovering quite close to the water, which darted off at incredible speed as they approached. The area was home to Project Cobra Mist, which involved radar waves that followed the earth's curvature.

Further Comments: Larger than a jumbo jet, this V shaped craft was only spotted for a few seconds before disappearing from view.

Light Show
Location: Paignton (Devon) - Skies over the area

Date / Time: 23 September 2007, between midnight and 02:00h
Further Comments: Several witnesses in different areas of Paignton reported seeing up to one hundred orange, green and red lights in the sky. Witness accounts varied - one person said they moved in formation, while another reported some were moving to the left while others to the right. One person reported a blue light that the other ufos moved towards.

Yellow Lights

Further Comments: A driver stopped his car to watch five large yellow lights hanging in the sky above the village. The balls disappeared after thirty seconds.

Further Comments: One witness reported seeing a green flash in the sky, followed by a green light 'swirling' before vanishing.

Further Comments: Seen by two police officers, this UFO resembled a large airship, travelling at a then unheard of speed.

Ship
Location: Portland (Dorset) - Exact location not known, was observed from Lyme

Further Comments: A strange ship appeared in the skies over Portland for seven or eight minutes. Sails, rigging and men armed with pikes could be observed on board, and the vessel was accompanied by stormy weather.

Silent Vulcan

Further Comments: Christened the 'Silent Vulcan' by students because of its similarity to a Vulcan bomber (but without any sound), this large aircraft was seen by a student in the skies of Preston. He stated the object shot off towards the dock area, moving at incredible speed.

Rugby Ball

Further Comments: A zigzagging rugby ball shaped object, larger than an aircraft, was reported by a witness. The ufo was surrounded by red and orange lights.

Further Comments: Three teenagers spotted a strange red glowing orb flying overhead as they were out walking.

Radar/Visual Sighting

Further Comments: Several UFOs were detected by the base's radar, crossing the North Sea at speeds unmatched by any contemporary aircraft. One UFO was intercepted by a US fighter, but was soon lost.

Diamond Formation
Location: Ring's End (Cambridgeshire) - Skies above March Road

Further Comments: Andrew Warren and his son watched a diamond formation of lights as they passed overhead. Though the source of the lights appeared close, there was no sound, and the pattern appeared to hover before moving away. They also saw two other patterns of light, one of which was a 'V' shape.

Orange Jellyfish
Location: Romford (Essex) - Area over Acacia Avenue

Further Comments: A family of four observed a set of three orange lights, 'undulating like a jellyfish', drifting over the town and heading upwards before they disappeared amongst the stars. The UFOs were also witnesses by two people on the outskirts of Romford.

Spaceship Alley
Location: Rossendale Valley (Lancashire) - General area

Further Comments: This part of the county has so many reports of strange nocturnal lights that it justifies the dramatic nickname. However, cynics name British Aerospace as a possible source for the displays.

Alien Fairy
Location: Rowley Regis (West Midlands) - Bluestone Walk

Date / Time: 4 January 1979
Further Comments: Three figures, all less than four foot tall with tissue paper wings, drifted into a house in the town and interrogated a housewife for an hour. She said they looked like fairies, though they had laser beams on top of their heads, and left via a UFO eight foot long.

Figure with Laser Eyes
Location: Sale (Lancashire) - Drayton Road, Risley exit from the motorway

Date / Time: 17 March 1978
Further Comments: A driver pulled over to watch a two metre tall creature, dressed in silver and with thin beams of light coming from its large eyes, as it moved along the embankment by the side of the road. When the witness arrived home, he discovered that he had 'lost' almost an hour.

Circular Object
Location: Saxlingham (Norfolk) - Holt Road heading towards B1156
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 2010
Further Comments: A witness pulled their car over to have a better look at a circular object hovering about twenty metres above the road, as did another car behind them. The object did not make a sound and the witness estimated it was around five metres in diameter. The witness then lost their nerve and drove off, as did the occupant in the other car.
