Flashing Orange

Location: Bubbenhall (Warwickshire) - Stoneleigh Road
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 11 February 2008
Further Comments: A couple in their car thought a falling flashing object was going to hit them. They reported the object as being half the size of their Vauxhall Corsa, flashing orange, and being similar to a dinner plate in shape. The ufo landed in nearby fields, but what became of it is unknown.


 
 


Snaking Lights

Location: Burgess Hill (Sussex) - London Road area
Type: UFO
Date / Time: September 1995
Further Comments: A married couple, along with other witnesses, observed five circular lights in the sky. The lights were different colours and 'snaked' for a number of minutes before all turning white and shooting off in different directions.


 
 


Boomerang

Location: Burgess Hill (Sussex) - Royal George Road
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 1994 or 1995
Further Comments: While outside, a male witness heard the sound of aircraft engines and looked to the sky. He watched a 737 appear briefly in the gap of the clouds, closely followed by another craft which was twice the size of the recognisable airplane. The latter craft was boomerang shaped with squared wing tips, and was dark grey or black in colour. After disappearing into the clouds, the witness did not see either craft again.


 
 


Flying Arrow

Location: Burnley (Lancashire) - Over Rowley lake, Brunshaw road
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 01 October 2011, around midnight
Further Comments: A night fisherman spotted an arrow shaped object travelling at a fantastic speed above him. The craft was silent and left no contrails, and possessed a light at each corner. The witness believed it could have been manmade. And possibly connected to a nearby military base.


 
 


Ball Lightning?

Location: Bury Hill (Sussex) - A29
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 24 August 2012, 20:30h
Further Comments: A van driver reported an extremely bright ball of light the size of a steering wheel hovering above the road. After around three seconds it darted past the van, the driver estimating it moving between 80 and 90 mph.


 
 


Four Spheres

Location: Bury St Edmunds (Suffolk) - Howard estate, heading towards Fornham St Martin
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 21 April 2007, 09:27h
Further Comments: The Ministry of Defence confirmed that Suffolk Police had handed over a report of four black spheres which one person had seen moving across the sky in formation.


 
 


Revolving Lights

Location: Bury St Edmunds (Suffolk) - Sky over the Cathedral
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 29 November 2008, 22:30h
Further Comments: Several people, including a member of staff at the Cathedral, reported observing a luminous grey UFO over the area. One witness contacted the police.


 
 


Helicopter

Location: Buxton (Derbyshire) - Skies above Harpur Hill area
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 1973 - 1974
Further Comments: A phantom helicopter was reported flying around the area at night several times over a two year period. Press and police were unable to discover who or what was behind the mysterious craft.


 
 


Flying Wedge

Location: Buxton (Lancashire) - 2500 ft above the area
Type: UFO
Date / Time: February 1996
Further Comments: Two pilots in a 737 reported narrowly avoiding a large black wedge shaped UFO while flying into the airport from Milan. The object passed so close to the passenger aircraft that one of the pilots ducked.


 
 


Silver Disc

Location: Byland (Yorkshire) - Byland Abbey
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 1290
Further Comments: The occupants of the abbey were said to have been terrorised when a large radiant silver object flew overhead just as they sat down to eat.


 
 


Airship

Location: Caerphilly (Mid Glamorgan) - Caerphilly Mountain
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 18 May 1909
Further Comments: Two men speaking in a strange tongue were seen by a witness here - they made their escape in an airship. Though it is thought they were German, no country in the world had an airship capable of making that kind of flight at the time.


 
 


The British Roswell?

Location: Caldbeck (Cumbria) - Cumbrian fells - exact area not known
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 04 March 1954
Further Comments: A disc shaped alien spacecraft crash landed in this area. Three people witnessed the event; a farmer and son who were held by military personnel for two weeks, and a poacher who claimed to have seen two bodies, with 'faces like the Devil's' (the poacher had a breakdown soon after). The RAF (?) removed all evidence of the incident from the area.


 
 


Solway Spaceman

Location: Carlisle (Cumbria) - Coastal marshland NW of town
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 24 May 1964
Further Comments: Jim Templeton, while taking family photographs, caught on film a strange white figure wearing what appears to be a spacesuit floating behind his daughter. Jim stated that the figure was not visible at the time of taking the photograph.


 
 


Streaming Light

Location: Chapel-en-le-Frith (Derbyshire) - Skies over village
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 30 March 1716, 21:00h - 00:00h
Further Comments: Now thought likely to be Aurora Borealis, parish records mention a bright light over the skies of the village, changing from white to the colours of the rainbow. Occasionally flashes of light and smoke could be seen.


 
 


White Shape

Location: Chawton (Hampshire) - Skies above the town
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 22 June 2002, 21:35h
Further Comments: A round ball of white light was filmed for several minutes as it darted around the sky. It changed shape and size several times before finally disappeared behind a dark cloud.


 
 


Dumbbell Shaped Craft

Location: Church Stowe (Northamptonshire) - Road through village
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 22 November 1978
Further Comments: Elsie Oakensen saw this craft as she drove through the village, returning from work. Passing underneath it, her car lost power, and she experienced fifteen minutes of 'missing time' - later hypnotic regression revealed she was taken on board the craft.


 
 


Downed Cigar

Location: Cleveland (Yorkshire) - Exact location not known
Type: UFO
Date / Time: November or December 2003
Further Comments: A rumour floating around on the internet said that a cigar-shaped ufo, around six metres in length, was forced down by two RAF fighters. The crashed craft deeply embedded itself in mud, and rather move it straight away, authorities buried the ufo with the intent to move it once interest died down. Whether this happened is unknown.


 
 


Anchor

Location: Clonmacnoise (County Offaly) - Unknown church
Type: UFO
Date / Time: Unknown
Further Comments: During Mass, the congregation at this church were interrupted as an anchor dropped from the sky and caught on the church door. The people investigated and spotted a ship floating above them; one of the crew diving overboard and swimming towards them through the air towards the anchor. The congregation grabbed the sailor, but the bishop demanded that they let him go. As the group released the man, he floated upwards and once on board the ship, the rope attached to the anchor was cut - the ship sailed off into the sky. The anchor was said to have been on display at the church.


 
 


Darting Light

Location: Colchester (Essex) - Sky over Titania Close
Type: UFO
Date / Time: September or October 1976
Further Comments: A group of children playing football watched a light dart around the sky at incredible speed. It momentarily stopped moving before darting off once again in the direction of the A12 road. The light later returned to the area and was seen by other witnesses.


 
 


Three Discs

Location: Conisborough (Yorkshire) - Skies above town
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 28 March 1966
Further Comments: The famous black and white photograph of three discs flying over the town taken by a 15 year old school boy remains a mystery to this day.


 
 


White Light

Location: Conisholme (Lincolnshire) - Area around wind farm
Type: UFO
Date / Time: January 2009
Further Comments: After a wind turbine was found damaged (one blade bent, another laying on the ground), a number of theories emerged to explain why the incident had happened. County councillor Robert Palmer reported seeing a round white light which hovered near the area, while the media reported that John Harrison had seen a massive ball of light with something akin to tentacles reaching for the ground. While the 'ufo hit our turbine' stories were popular with the media, there is a high chance that the blade just fell off, hitting the second blade as it fell...


 
 


Fog Bank with Flag

Location: Corton (Suffolk) - Beach
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 29 March, 1890
Further Comments: What could be seen as an early UFO sighting, a man walking along the beach watched a localised 'fog bank' sitting on the sand, with a huge flagpole sticking out. After ten minutes, the object rose and faded from view.


 
 


Fifty Pence

Location: Croydon (Surrey) - Purley Way
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 1970s, 07:30h
Further Comments: A witness walking to the nearby college suddenly realised there was no traffic on the roads. Something made him look up only to see a large a fifty pence (heptagon) shaped craft hovering silently in the sky. It had a red underbelly, bright silver sides and moved from left to right. The witness looked down briefly, during which time the craft started to move away at incredible speed. The witness chased it across the road (traffic had appeared again) but it had disappeared from view. The witness later found out that he had lost an hour of time.


 
 


Four Balls

Location: Didsbury (Lancashire) - Sky looking north
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 04 May 2008, 23:10h
Further Comments: Four orange balls of light were spotted silently floating in the sky, forming a pyramid. They remained for quite some time.


 
 


Orange Triangle

Location: E17 (Greater London) - Skies over Walthamstow
Type: UFO
Date / Time: 18 October 1996
Further Comments: Two children reported seeing a large orange triangular shaped object above them, making a funny noise.
