ABC Footprints
Location: East Mersea (Essex) - Sea wall near Cooper's beach holiday park
Date / Time: 1996
Further Comments: In excess of seventeen ABC footprints were found here, each 6 inches across with extended claws. Baring in mind that cats do not walk with their claws extended, this could well be either a mistake or a fake.

Further Comments: Following up ABC reports, the area was combed by police with dogs; nothing was ever found.

Further Comments: Whilst walking his two Yorkshire terriers, John Hescott encountered a large black cat. The feline walked away from a children's play area towards a service road. The sighting was reported to the police.

Further Comments: The witness who saw this cat said it was the size of a small pony - he watched it as it passed within three meters of him.

Further Comments: Seen sitting on the wall several times during October, residents called the police when the large cat looked like it was going to have a face off with their pet cat.

Further Comments: This large albino cat was seen close to the cottages and was reported to resemble a lion. The same area is reportedly haunted by a headless white woman.

Further Comments: A brown, pointed eared cat was spotted on this site by a security guard, the third such sighting at this location.

Further Comments: Police, soldiers, big game hunters... all have staked out the moor at various times over the past thirty years in the hope of catching the big cat that has killed hundreds of sheep. None have succeeded.

Large Black Cat

Date / Time: Early Morning, Winter, 1989
Further Comments: Two sisters spotted what they described as a black panther cross the top of the field by the hedge line. The creature then graciously jumped through the hedge and disappeared.

Further Comments: Two women walking close to woodland spotted a large sandy coloured Lynx in a field.

Further Comments: Part of a rash of sightings of ABCs in and around the Ipswich area during 1996. The creature was nicknamed 'Paws' by local media.

Further Comments: Seen twice by different people in the same area, this cat possessed a thick coat and left a strong smell of urine from one place where it had lain.

Slinky Cat

Further Comments: While feeding their horses, two women spotted a long tailed black cat emerge out of nearby woodland. Several of the horses fled across the field, and when the women approached the black feline, it ran off.

Tailless Tiger
Location: Fort William (Highland) - Glen Nevis
Date / Time: 2001
Further Comments: Two witnesses running in the area observed a three metre long cat drinking from the river. One of the women said looked like a tailless tiger with white eyes with no pupils. The creature ran off when it spotted the runners. Local papers reported the deaths of several sheep a few days after the sighting.

Further Comments: A couple of reports claim ABC sightings in this region, both of brownish cats.

Location: Gatwick (Essex) - Fields parallel to railway track near the airport
Date / Time: March 2007
Further Comments: A woman travelling on the train spotted a black cat stalking a herd of cows in a field. She reported that the creature was about half the size of one of the nearby cows.

Further Comments: Policemen, farmers and walkers have all spotted an unidentified large black cat in the area.

Further Comments: One witness reported throwing a stone at a large black shape, not realising it was a large cat until it opened its yellow eyes.

Road Crosser

Further Comments: A woman who stopped her car to answer a mobile phone spotted a large black cat cross the road in front. The cat stood three foot high and possessed a long black tail that drooped downwards. The sighting lasted for around five seconds.

Further Comments: The dark fawn ABC here was believed to be a mountain lion.

Black Leopard

Further Comments: A Greenock couple were surprised to find a large black cat in their front garden which quickly ran away. It is believed that there is at least one adult ABC and two cubs living in the area.

Further Comments: This light coloured feline was the size of a pig, and was said to have vanished when a local man tried to kick the creature.

The Catbeast

Date / Time: Ongoing since 2005
Further Comments: Dubbed 'catbeast' by local press, this alien big cat would appear to be more than one entity, as descriptions range from 'black panther' to 'tiger'.
