Located in the Irish
Sea, off the North West coast of England, one can find the Isle
of Man. Four hundred and twenty-nine square miles in size, the island
is mainly known for the TT races amongst sports fans, and its Celtic
and Viking heritage amongst historians and sociologists. It is claimed
on a good day you can see England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland from
Snaefell Hill, and the region is governed by the world's oldest
continuous parliament (Tynwald). The area is dominated by tales
of fairies and cryptozoological reports rather than of phantoms
and hauntings, perhaps revealing the strength of the island’s
cultural history.
