Francis Dawes - Peterhouse, Cambridge

Dawes was a former Peterhouse bursar who hanged himself in the 18th century after an election scandal. He took his life near the Combination Room where his ghost was seen. It is unsure whether the entity seen in 1997 was Dawes or the ghost of Max Perutz, a Nobel Prize winner.
