Further Comments: Several drivers narrowly avoided running over this man, braking sharply, only to find he has disappeared. A few witnesses have also reported seeing him with a lady, though no one knows who they are.

Further Comments: Visible only on a video surveillance camera, witnesses in a garage watched a car and a driver disappear slowly into thin air over a period of twenty minutes.

Further Comments: This phantom green lady was said to cross the road while travelling up the hill, oblivious to the traffic which would serve to avoid her (by often driving off the road).

Further Comments: A mother and daughter are said to have been driven from the house just after WWII, terrified by the footfalls of someone in hobnail boots. The ghost became louder as time went on, banging on walls and eventually screaming.

Drenched Dead Woman

Further Comments: A group of 5 people came across this ghost while walking home on evening, staring blankly at them. She is believed to be the heartbroken daughter of a local farmer who, many years previous, drowned herself in a pond after being deigned the right to marry the man she loved.

Wild Dogs?

Further Comments: A pair of large dog-like creatures have been observed in this area, and are thought to live in the nearby woodland. The disappearance of neighbourhood cats has been blamed on the creatures.

Sound of Bugles

Further Comments: A former owner of the cottage lost two sons in the Crimean War - she tried to summon their spirits by blowing a trumpet. It is unclear whether the bugle calls are hers, or her sons replying.

Dog as Large as a Bike
Location: Tollesbury - On the route to Jordan's Green, along the lane that leads up to Gorwell Hall.

Further Comments: Shuck sightings appear quite common in this area. This encounter involved a woman coming face to face with a black dog with a bright red tongue, which was as large as her bicycle. It chased her (or ran alongside her, according to other stories) as she peddled down the road, disappearing soon after.

Further Comments: Seen walking in this area, the lady is believed to be heading towards Gorwell Hall, the place where she died after having her throat cut.

Foetal Position

Further Comments: A female form laying in a foetal position on the road was encountered by a driver and passenger. The woman looked to be in her early twenties and wore a black dress and high heeled shoes or boots. As the driver stopped his car, the figure lifted her head and raised her hand. The driver moved the car to one side of the road, but when he and his passenger climbed out to help the woman, the entity had vanished.

Snapping and Snarling Black Dog

Further Comments: A cyclist reported being attacked by a large black dog while travelling down the coast road. Leaping off his bike to scare the animal, it disappeared before his eyes.

Further Comments: Local legend recalls a knight who wished to build a house a mile away from the field. The devil came each night and pulled the house down, until the knight agreed to erect the building closer to the field.

Victorian Man looking Worried

Further Comments: While slowing down, a train passed a man dressed in Victorian clothing standing in a small brick building, looking very surprised to see the locomotive. A curious passenger investigated further, and found the building no longer existed.

Knife Thrower

Further Comments: The East London Paranormal Research Society visited this site after staff reported poltergeist activity, including a butter knife which was thrown from an empty kitchen. The society claimed to make contact with a sixteenth century witch and a young boy.

The Pushing Chair

Further Comments: People who sit in a certain chair in the auditorium experience the sensation of being pushed. This phenomenon is said to be related to a suicide which once occurred here. Watchers on one ghost hunt heard footsteps and tapping in the same area, but could see no one.
